Clear aligners handle crowding, spacing, mild rotations and relapse after childhood braces well. They handle significant bite discrepancies, severe rotations and cases needing extractions poorly, and no amount of enthusiasm changes that. So the assessment is genuinely an assessment: a scan, X-rays, and a straight answer about whether aligners will get you where you want to go. Dr Michael Kozman is a general dentist, not a registered specialist orthodontist. Where a case would be better treated with fixed braces or by a specialist, we say so and arrange the referral rather than attempting something that won't hold. And whatever route you take, the result needs a retainer afterwards — teeth drift back throughout life, and that part isn't optional.

Are you an orthodontist?
No. Dr Michael Kozman is a general dentist who provides clear aligner and braces treatment. Orthodontists complete several years of additional specialist training and are registered separately. For complex cases we refer to one.
How do I know if I'm suitable?
A scan and X-rays tell us. We plan the movement digitally and show you a simulation of the predicted result before you commit to anything. If it won't do what you want, you'll hear that at the assessment rather than halfway through.
Do you treat children?
We assess children and teenagers and can tell you whether anything needs doing, whether it's better to wait, or whether they should see a specialist. Growing patients are often better handled by an orthodontist and we'll say so.
I had braces as a teenager and my teeth have moved — can that be fixed?
Usually, and often more quickly than the original treatment took. Relapse cases are among the most straightforward aligner treatments there are.
Do I have to wear a retainer forever?
Effectively yes, at night. Teeth move throughout life whether they've been straightened or not. Stopping means the crowding comes back, and redoing treatment costs what doing it did.
